We are roughly 1/5 of the way through 52 Great Cheap Dates by Lynn Gordon. If you are following along with us, you know that each of these challenges have been unique, requiring an attitude of adventure and a sense of humor. I am thrilled to bits when I hear of other couples that are doing these challenges along with us. If that is you, I would love to hear your stories. While some of these feats are more tell worthy than others, it feels like Clark and I are a dating couple all over again, which is the most important thing. After five years and two kids, we’re beyond being able to finish the other’s sentences. Clark could literally grunt and I could translate. So this week’s challenge is going to require some creativity and thought. And as always, I welcome any thoughts and suggestions.
Just the Facts, Ma’am
“Both of you write down 20 personal questions on separate scraps of paper. Roll your questions up and drop them into separate bowls. Take turns pulling questions out of your date’s bowl and answering it. Each of you can exercise the right to not answer one question.”
Like I said, five years and two kids later, the tendency is to think that I already know everything about my husband. I could take this the “would you rather direction”. For instance, “Would you rather have to sing everything you say from now on, or would you rather have Regis Philbin narrate your every move for the rest of your life?” Those are always fun, but the challenge is to come up with personal questions. I’d rather this be more juicy, less silly.
We are taking yet another road trip this weekend. Seventeen hours in the car last weekend with the munchkins wasn’t torture enough. With plenty of talk time in the car, this ought to pass the time for sure.
What are some things that you wish you knew about your partner that perhaps you’ve never thought to ask?
